The name of ‘Autumn Delight’ indicates that this Hybrid Musk rose is better in autumn than summer. The hips are of no great merit (they are seldom any colour other than green), but the colour of the flowers is much richer and more intense in the cool weather of an English autumn. Then the rich apricot buds open out to shades of buff, cream, and pink. In summer, and in the hot climates where Hybrid Musk bushes grow so well, the flowers are much paler √¢‚Ǩ‚Äù seldom more than cream √¢‚Ǩ‚Äù and quickly turn to white. The golden stamens and red filaments are attractive at all times. The flowers come in large clusters of 10-30 (but twice as many in autumn). The plant has small, dark, healthy leaves, smooth stems (often completely thornless), and an upright habit. It is fairly vigorous. Little or no pruning suits it best.
