American Home’ is a traditional crimson Hybrid Tea, with large, fat flowers and a sumptuous scent. The flowers are a good deep crimson and hold their colour well, even when they have opened out fully to reveal a muddle of petals. Sometimes the petals have a white streak running our from the centre of the flower. The flowers are borne singly or in clusters of up to four on strong stems. The plant has large, dull leaves and crimson new growths. It is fairly vigorous and upright and repeats well, but the flowers are sensitive to rain damage.
